Electroacupuncture

A non-invasive and painless technique for treating pain by using low-level electrical currents.

What is Electroacupuncture?

Electroacupuncture is a modern variation of acupuncture, using electricity to enhance the benefits of this traditional therapeutic treatment. A small amount of electricity runs through the needle, emitting a subtle vibration or soft hum during treatment. Using electricity activates the body’s acupuncture points much faster than traditional acupuncture, thus providing more immediate pain relief and detoxification. Electroacupuncture activates your sympathetic nerve fibers. By activating these fibers, your body releases endogenous opioids such as endorphins, which help to reduce pain and inflammation. The activated nerve fibers also help to reduce feelings of persistent pain, making it a viable treatment for chronic pain and stress.

Electroacupuncture is great for treating chronic conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, arthritis, anxiety, and more.

Initial Consultation Required

An initial consultation with Dr. Beaman is required to find out if you are a candidate for Electroacupuncture. If you are determined to be a candidate, we can perform your first procedure the same day.

What can I expect from Electroacupuncture?

QUICK & PAINLESS

Electroacupuncture is quick and painless, you’re in and out of the office in 30-45 minutes.

TREATMENT COURSE

The number of procedures you will need will vary based on your specific condition, the amount of time you’ve had it, etc.

PROCESS

The Electroacupuncture process is repeated 2-5 times a week until maximum improvement is seen. Then a maintenance regimen is often prescribed to prevent recurrence. Maintenance may be as little as 1-2 times per month.
